Welcome. This is an unofficial blog for Beaconsfield squash club.
Here you'll be able to access info about team matches, keep tabs on divisional positions,
and get updates on squash and racketball events and any forthcoming social activity.
It could also be the place to start (and end) rumours, and indulge in healthy banter.
There's bound to be the odd thing that offends; but that's alright isn't it, us being adults?
If you're truly miffed just email me and I'll remove the offending article.
You'll also be able to post a blog yourself; I am your host so, simply email me your piece/rant/match report/poetry/recipe for tripe to:
trev@lisacottage.demon.co.uk
I'll put it up 'in the cloud' and folk will then be able to comment or heckle...
So come on, email your pieces or add your comments below what is already posted there.

Super 2nds v Chesham Bois Seniors (1/12/11)

Ahead of the forthcoming clash between Super 2nds and the Bulls on Tuesday Gareth has posted this match report. Tuesday will be noteworthy and potentially incendiary as the Super 2nds supremo (and his hunchback Mears) seem to have no problem in fielding a 2nds/Bears combo'. (Bears are rested as a team next week). I don't want to come over all Gerrards 'Very' Cross, but would question the morality of this. Gazza cites 'injuries' which of course we're all suffering...
We're all cut from different cloth I know but I'm not sure how Gazza can sleep or hold his food down, although judging from this recent holiday snap his conscience doesn't seem to be effecting his appetite too much...

Beaconsfield 2 (and the TOP BULL) v Chesham Bois Senior (Away) Thursday 1st December

We played a much changed line up from the team that played The Bulls recently.
First up were Chris and Bob:

Bob v Mark Pearson at 5
Bob finally lost his cherry with his virgin loss of the season and as Kev and I watched Bob’s demise Kev in leaned in and whispered “every cloud has a silver lining, least Bob will stop going on about his 100% win record!”. Bob was 2-1 down and managed to win the forth 10-9 but with a recurring leg strain, a younger opponent and the admission that despite my instructions to the contrary he had sex the previous night he limped (like the previous night?) to 4-9 in the final game. Bob lost 2-3 and wasn’t his usual chatty self after (result, said Kev!) Bob was knackered, s*agged 2 nights running!

Chris v Chris Jordan
CM said that our Trev had beaten him the previous week, that he hadn’t got going against him! Is this our Trev? Well CM had decided that he wasn’t going to out run our Chris so what the small gallery saw was an WORLD CLASS exhibition of Old Man’s squash. CM would go for a winner within 3 shots and watching was like eating a chinese meal where you left the restaurant with a big bill and an empty stomach. Chris stuck to the task and ran out a 3-0 victory.

Kev V Aubrey
I really like Aubrey – his matching trendy head and wrist band, his amazing forehand and deft touches and I believe he is over 60! He’s been a very good player and has represented England in his age group. To top that he met a lovely lady from Belfast and they are getting married next year. Aubrey publishes a book in January, a work of fiction with a squash context. Kev focussed in the first game on his weaker backhand side (he’s a leftie) and won the first 9-4. Then Kev stopped doing that and lost the 2nd. Kev took the 3rd but lost the 4th and just managed to sneak the 5th 9-7. 3-2 to Kev

Nigel (Top Dog Bull) v Neil Thomas
I didn’t see this one as was playing. Having lost Phil A to his knee and Neil to  the lash (again!) Nigel kindly agreed to assist. Trev, this is called “bigger picture team spirit”. Nigel is on the up again beating our Chris recently in a league match. Nigel ran out a comfortable winner. 3-0 to Nigel. Nicely set up for the Beac 2 v Bulls this coming Tuesday.

Gareth v Steve Hunt
Steve was back for his first team match this season after injury. We were 1-1 in our match score over the years and I managed to go 2 up coming back from 7-1 down in the 2nd to win that 9-7. (that’s for Jim’s benefit as we are playing next week in the “clash of the well filled shorts”. Steve took the 3rd as he was finding his rhythm but I managed to take the 5th 9-0. 3-1 to me.

So 4-1 to Beaconsfield 2 and 18-6. All nicely set up for 2nd’s V Bulls this coming Tuesday – the BS has started already and no doubt whinging will begin from Trev as we have the Top Bear helping us to balance the loss of Phil A and a drunken Neil. Good luck to another of our players, James Wyatt – he is playing in the Swiss Open this weekend and I understand that he will become number 2 in Europe soon! Shake his hand on Tuesday and be able to say in the future that you knew him before he became a world class athlete at whatever sport he decides.
