Welcome. This is an unofficial blog for Beaconsfield squash club.
Here you'll be able to access info about team matches, keep tabs on divisional positions,
and get updates on squash and racketball events and any forthcoming social activity.
It could also be the place to start (and end) rumours, and indulge in healthy banter.
There's bound to be the odd thing that offends; but that's alright isn't it, us being adults?
If you're truly miffed just email me and I'll remove the offending article.
You'll also be able to post a blog yourself; I am your host so, simply email me your piece/rant/match report/poetry/recipe for tripe to:
trev@lisacottage.demon.co.uk
I'll put it up 'in the cloud' and folk will then be able to comment or heckle...
So come on, email your pieces or add your comments below what is already posted there.

Lions v Gerrards (Very) Cross

Dan Fernandez writes:
Taking heed of Tres Vain's note re: my punctuality of match reports herewith a summary of THIS WEEK'S Lions match V EverSo

It was clearly end of season blues at GX as I received a note from their skipper Heff early in the week stating they were only able to field 4x players for the match.
As I had already lined up the flying Finn (Antti) and the little terrier (Mears) at 4 & 5 – I suggested whoever performed the better in the Bulls v 2nds fixture the night before would be in at the top table.
As Mears offered one of the worst team performances of the season v Magic (who expanded more energy getting changed than during the match), Antti was in.

With Paul still out with a back strain (welcome to the O40s) & CK having the snip we were down to Mark, Nic, Me and the aforementioned guest

Mark was up at 1 v Trevor Loran and a very entertaining game unfolded. Mark went 2-0 up striking the ball early, returning every shot hard, low and cross-court so stretching and twisting his taller oppo. However, Trevor fought back upping the pace himself and Mark under pressure started floating it around losing his rhythm and standing a yard back. Soon 2-2. Despite knowing what he had to do MT ran out of gas in 5th. 2-3
At 2 Nic played Andy Pears whose squash looks s**t, kit looks s**t but is a nice bloke. Nic’s shots were s**t and in a s**t match he lost quickly 0-3.
At 3 I took on the Heff who beat me in Oct when I had man-flu. I was looking forward to the re-match and summarily despatched him 3-0 for 8 pts. He was clearly under the weather but a win is a win is a win.

At 4 Antti played Michael Jacobs who turned up in a 62 reg £110k Porsche Cabriolet. Despite having all the gear he had no idea, with AV winning through 3-1 (losing 2nd in a slug fest)

Thankfully at 5 we had a walkover as on current form Kev would have lost whoever he was playing (even if up against Big Loll playing with a frying pan).

So 15-7 win which takes us to 2nd place in table

On Weds March 6th we take on 3rd placed Homer Green in LAST HOME MATCH OF THE SEASON.

Whoever wins will take 2nd place in league.

Paul will be back.

CK will be there (on crutches post knee op)

…So come on down
